How To Set Up Multiple Adsense and Adword Accounts

It still surprises me how many people haven’t figured this one out yet. It’s really simple. For those of you who haven’t figured this one out yet, I’m going to tell you how to set up multiple Adsense or Adword accounts.

First off, for those of you who are screaming that Adsense only allows one account per person, pipe down, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Sure, Adsense would like for you to only have one account, but wanting something and requiring something is two different things.
Why You Should Have Multiple Adsense and Adword Accounts

To set up multiple accounts, you need the mindset of an Entrepreneur. Think like a business owner.

I have a couple companies that I own and run. Each company has it’s own Checking, Savings and Credit account. Do you know what nightmare it would be to try and run these companies from one checking account? Do you think Donald Trump runs his empire from one account? No and neither should you, especially at tax time.

Come tax time, you’ll be thankful that you had one Adsense and Adword account per company. It’s a real bitch trying to sort out income streams from several companies with one Adsense account.
Setting Up Multipe Adsense and Adword Accounts

Fist off, you’re going to need a P.O. box. I prefer to use mail companies like The UPS Store. By using a mail company, your address can say “Suite 101″ instead of P.O. Box 101. Which address would you rather do business with?

So to get started, you ideally want one Adsense and Adword account per company. So you’ll start off by filing a DBA at the county seat (for U.S. Citizens) if you don’t already have a tax id number.

Once you have you DBA paperwork finalized (depends on the state/county you live in) you can then go to the IRS and obtain a tax i.d.

The IRS really discourages an individual from having more than one tax i.d., but it is possible. Ask your accountant or attorney about the pro’s and con’s because I’m no expert when it comes to taxes. That’s why I hire professionals to do it for me and you should also.

Now that you have your tax i.d., go to Google and sign up for an Adsense and Adwords account for each company you own. I also use a different email address for each company. Each company will naturally have a different mailing address if you’ve done your work right.

Yeah, it’s that simple!

Some have worried about using their Adsense and Adword accounts from the same I.P. I haven’t seen this to be a problem. If it were, every SEO company out there who had multiple Clients using Adwords would be in big trouble. Set your accounts up legitimately and don’t worry about it.

This is the legitimate way of setting up multiple Adsense and Adword accounts. There are many ways to do it non-legit ;)
